How bouncing ideas off of family and friends can help you find your muse
"OUR FRIENDS SHOULD BE COMPANIONS WHO INSPIRE US, WHO HELP US RISE TO OUR BEST."
Your friends and family have been there since the beginning and have all the embarrassing photos and memories to prove it. They know you as well as you know them. Do not be afraid to go to them when you are seeking creative inspiration. Let them be your sounding board for new ideas as well as your support system to help you get your creative projects out there.
Friends and Family
No one knows you like your family. After all, they have been there from the beginning and have the pictures to prove it: from those embarrassing potty training days to the even more embarrassing teen dating years. While family can be hard to handle at times (especially when they decide to create a Facebook photo album of your mullet years), they are also the ones you can count on when the proverbial poop decides to hit the ceiling fan. They are there to support you, and usually do it without asking for anything in return.
The same thing can be said about good friends. In fact, in this era of the ever shrinking nuclear family, friends have become more like family members than ever before. They have also been with you from the beginning and probably even have the more shocking pictures to prove it. Your mates have been though a lot with you and every time you get together and reminiscence about the good old days, great stories are sure to be recalled. Your friends are also there to support you and while they might draw things on you if you happen to pass out, they will also give you the shirt off of their back if you happen to need it.
Treasure the fact that you have your family and friends there for you and do not be afraid to go to them when you are looking for creative inspiration. You can count on your friends and family to listen to your ideas and also to give you an honest opinion about the direction you are heading. They might even come up with good ideas that you may have not even thought of. Next time you are looking for your muse, get on the phone, web cam, or IM and get a hold of someone who really knows you. Do not be surprised if talking and sharing with them ends up unlocking your creativity.
