Why coming up with excuses is a waste of valuable creativity
"HE THAT IS GOOD FOR MAKING EXCUSES IS SELDOM GOOD FOR ANYTHING ELSE."
Making up excuses as to why you cannot is a waste a valuable creative energy. Instead of sitting there dreaming up reasons why you are not inspired, look for others ways to find your muse. Those who succeed do not give up on their inspiration and are willing to seek it despite the obstacles and diversions that are put in their way.
“We have forty million reasons for failure, but not a single excuse.” Rudyard Kipling
Think about all the excuses that are floating around…
“My dog ate my homework”
“My speedometer is broken”
“I didn’t know I had to declare that!”
“I had the stomach flu,… again”
If you really think about, a lot of creativity is actually involved in coming up with a good excuse. How many of us have spun an elaborate lie to avoid doing something we rather not do. “Next Tuesday? Oh sorry, I am getting a dental procedure.” How many of us let the reason why we cannot come into work on such a nice day turn into a deadly virus that is causing us to leak out of all our orifices? It really takes a lot of imagination to come up with a great excuse which is why when it comes to being creative…
There is no excuse
If you have the gumption to sit there and dream up reasons why you cannot find your muse, then you have ability to actually find creative inspiration. Sitting there and coming up with a million reasons why it is not in the cards for you to be creative today, is a waste of valuable creative resources.
Instead of sitting there and making a list of how you cannot find inspiration,
- You need more schooling
- You are too tired to be creative
- You are not destined for the creative world
- Blah, blah bah
Make a list of things you need to do to find your muse. ..
- Look up schools with creative classes
- Exercise to regain energy
- We make our own destiny
- No blahs about it
Turn all that creative excuse finding energy into something positive and productive and find yourself being inspired and achieving your creative goals.
